Even in the old days they needed a good barn. Or two. One for Barley and one for Wheat.
It took a while, of course; they started to fell the timbers from the Kings Wood (forest) in 1205. Then had the required timbers and scantlings by 1230 or so.....then built the Barns. And here they remain.
